Officially we have 6 more crazy shopping nights until Christmas Eve. Are all of you done with your shopping? I think I have a good grip on things but I say that every year and then I am one of "those" that is out the night before picking up a few gifts here and there because I remembered "Oh, I need to buy for so and so"...... typical..... Here is to wishing that everyone is done shopping (for Christmas that is...)
And as for our MN weather..............
Now mind you, I grew up where the temperature on the themometer dropped so low I didn't think it was possible to see that little line get any lower. I've seen and felt 40 below thanks to living in Northern Minnesota. So why does it feel so cold to me today when it is only 7 below (6 AM)? As Loren and my dad would say, just put on some more clothes and you'll warm up in no time.
Well, how many layers does it take? Jeans, 3 shirts (one is a sweatshirt), warm socks.... what more? Once I feel that the chill has gone away and my toes feel toasty warm, I'll let you know. I suppose I could put on the new Columbia boots that just arrived for Ethan.
Speaking of boots. Did I mention my boot story to you? I purchased some boots for Ethan from Marshall Fields 2 weeks ago. When I was checking out at the counter I specifically asked the clerk if the boots were a size 3. He responded with yes and placed the big brown box in the bag. At one point I thought I was going to give the boots to Ethan for Christmas but when he wanted to play outside and his other boots were soaking wet I figured this was the time to give him the boots.
The story goes like this:
As we all 3 were bundled so tight...... ready to go out for a good snow ball fight.
Emery in her green, pink and white ....Ethan in black and that orange so bright. Mommy racing around - so what's new... looking for gloves - seems to me they were blue. Ethan yells out "Mom my boots are wet".... I thought - what better time for new Columbia's to get. Out to the garage for the box big and brown.....Only to find me left with a frown. As I opened the box so excited with glee... there to my surprise was ONE BOOT and happy was NOT ME! So to wrap up my story and yes we did play... the downfall was Ethan had Mom's boots on that day! Although he did not complain one little bit... I on the other hand was phoning Marshall Fields & throwing a fit. The boots arrived all safe and sound.....now back to the search for that blue glove to be found.....
Point of my story: Make sure you have all of your items in your bag before you leave the store....
Enjoy and stay warm!
